Carbonation cap and Coopers PET bottles

Post by Rogermort » Sun Feb 14, 2016 1:03 am

I bought a box of Coopers PET bottles to use with my carbonation/counterfill caps but the thread is different. They fit 2 litre pop bottles perfectly but won't thread on to the Coopers bottles.
Does anyone know of a carbonation/counterfill top that will fit the Coopers thread?

I got one from eBay which came from Aus that was ok. You would have to do a search as I bought mine a while ago

These fit PET bottles. They are out of stock at the moment but give them a ring and ask when they will be back in.

I just bought one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/272108203067 hopefully it will work with Coopers PET bottles because I've just ordered 24 from Wilkos!
Planning: BrewEasy system build; possibly a Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold clone
Fermenting: Simcoe SMASH
Drinking: Cascade Centennial Pale

That one doesn't have the tail on that lets you use it as a counterflow though.

From the comments on here, seems I've been unlucky with the first two I bought. Now found one on eBay that the seller even illustrates being used with a Coopers bottle

Just realised it came from Johnny Conga of this parish. Works a treat.

So the one from Johnny Conga that works with Coopers PET bottles, does it also work with fizzy water/pop bottles (bigger 1.5L and 2L sizes as well as the 500ml ones)?

Yes, they work with Coopers' 500s, one litre pop bottles, 1.5 litre and two litre.
