Hi all!

I'm thinking about getting a Philip perfectdraft but on the FAQ I read this:

Do I always need to use a new tube when replacing the keg?

Answer

For reasons of taste and hygiene, you need to use a new tube every time you change the keg.

So I'm wondering if I have to get a new tube each time I buy a new keg ?? Does the tube comes with the keg? How does this works ?

Since this is a home brew forum I don't suppose many people here have bought the kegs and so can't answer your question. It seems to be a very expensive way to buy beer though.

seems a bit of a rip off. 6 litre kegs which is around 10 pints and kegs are £30-35, so your paying near pub prices to drink at home
could rig up a kegerator for alot less than the £250 price and buy full size kegs, 80 pints for £150 depending on what beer you want !

this is a homebrew forum though so not many would recommend that

What is a kegerator?

A kegerator is fridge or freezer with a temperature control. The beer keg is placed inside along with a gas cylinder and taps fitted to the door or side of the unit. you can serve either commercial beer or homebrewed beer. As we are a homebrew forum, most tend to use them to serve homebrewed beer in 20 or 30 lt kegs and 19lt cornies. Google Kegerator and you will get lots of information.

patience and ebay should provide you with a standard mini keg chiller/tap 'machine' 'as new' for 40-£50 (wait for a local one as they are bulky and expensive to ship.. )
