Quality 10litre pressure barrels?

Post by aamcle » Fri Mar 04, 2022 12:20 am

Following up on my previous thread about 10l size storage.

Are there any well made/good quality 10/12litre plastic beer barrels?

Mine are very very old (1980's) and I should probably replace them but the new ones I've seen don't appear to be as good.

Welcome to the modern world.
Why do you need to replace them then?

I'm having trouble with the threads, neither replacement cap or tap threads are quite right.
I can make both work so really I don't need to change the barrels it's just that they are older than a lot of the members here ...

I would get some thread sealant then.
Better idea... they sound like youngsters - you send them to me after you purchase new LOL.

I've got a 10 litre pressure barrel and I I used once for making a milk stout; I bought it a few years ago. It held pressure fine but as I recall the bottom expanded if you see what I mean, so it resembled a football!
