Kit No 2 ready to go.... Almost

Post by ebbadger » Mon Nov 05, 2007 2:32 pm

Well The Admirals Reserve is mellowing nicely in a barrell in the garage and thanks to Gaz I now have a second kit ready to start, A Muntons Gold Pale Ale

So a quick trip home at lunchtime saw two FV's and all the kit filled with sanitiser and a yeast starter on the go ready for tonight.....

The two Fvs are so I can also get a 23litre batch of TC on the go at the same time :), so touch wood I'll have a plentiful supply of beer in time for the xmas festivities.... If any lasts that long :)

Cheers Steve

I've got three now thanks to Freecycle, so one's being turned into a Bottling Bucket with the addition of a Little Bottler, one's had a tap fitted as my primary FV and the third is currently in use as my bottle-washing and sterilising plant but will probably become a second FV in the future.

I'd like to go 'no tap' on my FV as I had a bit of a nightmare with a leaking washer before making my last brew. Luckily I noticed it at the sterilising stage; would be a shame to find 23L of wort deposited over the floor! You have to be quick to win a bid on Freecycle round here - darn car booters

Thats it they are both underway...

23 ltrs of Muntons Gold IPA with an added kilo of pure honey

and 25 ltrs of Tesco apple juice with an added kilo of brown sugar

both had a starting gravity of 1052 so we'll see how they go......

Cheers Steve
