adding stuff to make a christmas beer
adding stuff to make a christmas beer
if i get a standard bitter kit and want to turn it into an christmas beer by adding things such as cinnamon and ginger maybe mulled wine spices etc. Anyone know what sort of quontities to add to a five gallon brew
An easy thing to do is take a pound of honey, some diced/grated orange peel (no white pith), about a thumb size piece sliced up and tablespoons of whatever spices you'd like to throw in. Put in for the last 15 minutes of boil.
You can also simmer this all on the stove and add to the primary.
Be careful, no one likes to feel like they're drinking a candle.

Then if I boil for 20 mins the following ingredients Cinnamon,Orange,Cumin and just pitch the tea minus the bits into my fermenter along with my kit it may do something to the flavour?
