Yes. From someone who is the most cack handed clumsy bugger on the face of this planet, yes. Best bit of advice, and don't laugh, I know it sounds obvious, but take your time. Get everything you need out on a table in front of you. Read your instructions, if you're going by the tin, again and again. Triple check that you've got everything you need. Have a look at my recent posting for John Bull London Porter. I've done plenty of kits in the past, and one or two since June, but I still have to slowly take my time and monitor every step. Hence my Porter posting. It's just me clarifying in mind after I've done something what it is that I've done. I find it can be dead easy to get your bucket out, get the kettle on, open the tin, and then think "oh, did I sterilise this or that?" "ooops forgot to rehydrate the yeast" "Bollocks, forgot to take a hydrometer reading". If you record your every step you should be fine.
One little tip should you bottle. I found last night when I was bottling some Turbo Cider that putting the bottle between my legs whilst sitting on a chair made the Emily Capper work so much easier. Read that little nugget on here somewhere, sorry I can't credit the poster. Small things like that make this game so much easier.
Have fun :)

Sanitise everything and rinse well! Heat up the can in a hot bath before pouring the syrup out.

Really it's down to preference, but as a general rule i'd say 500gm light spraymalt and 500gm glucose/brewer's sugar for lager, and 1kg medium spraymalt for bitters.
