I think we should start a campaign - if everyone here emails the Coopers marketing department, we could have you there by the New Year.

Here's the email address: pburge@coopers.com.au

I've already started the ball rolling:

 Frankly, my advice / what I'd do in that situation would be to wait till she starts to blow, then remove the entire damn lid! Put the FV where a wet floor won't matter too. Obviously, carpeted areas would be suicidal. Towels too are good. Both for temperature retention and soaking up what may well be to come.

I'd just sling a J Cloth over the open top. Rinse it out in tap water, as needed, and pop it back. Once the Big One passes, sure, fine; Pop the air lock / lid back on.

What have I started now, Kev? A run on the sales of Pear Drops?

Anyway, moments after making my above post, I lost my connection completely! Only just now got it back

Were it not for that enforced interlude, I had been trying to convey my rather stunned and 'speechless' Thanks to you guys who've taken it upon yeselves to throw blips at the Coopers radar. I actually read ADM's initial post last night. Just as the headlights swept across my window and I dashed out the door. Time I got back, I was in no state to be doing much else. Then, as I tried to respond today, look .....

I'm most flattered and touched by such displays of camaraderie, lads. God knows what Coopers will make of it all, 'mind!

Unfortunately, regardless of what they might or might not say, I'm quite unable to visit Australia, I'm afraid. Simple fact is, I have my creatures to look after here and so can't be away for twenty four hours :|

But never mind all that. Is their CEO really a Mr Burge??? I mean, ADM, ye haven't been sniffing around my Family Tree have ye, and all this being a vast and superbly orchestrated wind up? Only That's just freaking me Right out!

Ye see, my Great Grandmother ~ a woman whose picture alone held me fascinated all through my childhood, and who the truth of, learned in later life, is nothing short of legendary ..... Her name was Polly Burge!!! (Yes! 'Twilight Zone' music Again! How spooky's This getting?!)

For fear of causing Mr Burge any further disquiet about the potential of his own blood line, I'll say no more. But I'd Love to have a chat with him about it, if he has any interest in Genealogy. Let's just say I can well and truly see one or more of 'my' Burge's ending up in Australia, back in the day. Ye 'couldn't take them anywhere' and I could entirely envisage someone deciding Botany Bay might be a good place to send them! 8)

Not often I'm lost for words. But what can I say? Bloody fascinating, the whole Burge thing.
Stout serendipity.

Just checked my E-mail tonight and I have a reply from Mr Burge who says:

Thanks for your e-mail.

It's this kind of enthusiasm that was the catalyst behind formation of
the Coopers Club back in 1997, like-minded people who are a part of the
extended Coopers family.

I have passed your e-mail on to our distribution agent in the UK.

cheers

So Ditch, even if you can't go Down Under, at least we have put you on the map!!! You will be a legend at Coopers if we have anything to do with it! :D
