Kegging too early.

Hi to all.
Just kegged 1st kit today - woodfordes wherry.
In fermenter for 8 days, 1st night everything happened and then very quiet. Temp 18 - 23c constant, but 1st few nights down to 17c.
Being new didnt think to take 1st hydrometer reading but yesterday and today it read 1016 and being impatient I kegged it with 80grms brewing sugar.
Have i kegged too early and ruined beer or will it be drinkable? Have kept it warm room at the moment though. The barrel is a pressure cap type for co2 bottle. Tasted like a flat - albeit weak beer!
Thanks,
Steve.

It is better to barrel a brew when you have had 2 identical hydrometer readings 24 hours apart, although it probably would not have dropped much more than 1016, Wherry kits are noted for this.

It certainly will be drinkable, but you must be patient & resist the temptation to keep sampling it! Give it at least 4 weeks & your patience will be rewarded.
