Happy new year all.
I have been given a Coopers Dark Ale kit for Xmas and wondered what you guys found the best bottling it or kegging it?
Cheers

Coopers Dark Ale
Re: Coopers Dark Ale
can't vouch for bottling as it's the first time I've done the kit, but I've got a batch made with 1Kg dark spray malt and primed with 85g dark muscavado, sat conditioning in a keg for three weeks now that tastes smooth as smooth can be, it's bloody gorgeous. Taste wise it's half way between Newcastle Brown Ale and bottled Hobgoblin to my taste buds, but alot smoother than the latter with a nice mocca coloured head, but compared to my Wherry it's got much more of an alcoholic kick to it, close to 5% ABV. I should probably leave it another week but I'm probably gonna have a few of these tonight

Re: Coopers Dark Ale
I'll be finishing off the last few pints of mine, out of the keg, later on tonight ~ as and when I can face the thought of drinking more alcohol!
Certainly one I'll be making again some time. It made a nice variety to my usual diet of stout.

when i made mine i kegged half in to a 2 gallon keg and bottled the other half (i reduced the brewlength to 4 gallons). i think i probably enjoyed the beer in the keg more though it started to get a bit ropey towards the end.

Thanks guys I will most likely be kegging it then, I am itching to taste it as it smelled so nice when I was making it up.
