Had a beer tasting comparing:
1) Coopers Stout kit+1KG dry malt(Ditch's Recipe) with included Coopers kit yeast, made up to 23L, was far superior, much more malty and flavorful, much stronger aromas.
2) BrewHouse Stout 15L wort kit($40), (as per kit instructions) made up to 23L, made with included Coopers ale yeast. While good on its own was comparatively weak tasting with little aroma but twice the cost.
We were surprised at how much better the Coopers Stout was considering they used the same Coopers ale yeast.
"The Brew House" kits contain 15 litres of fresh, unconcentrated wort. It is also the first "Add-Water-And-Stir" kit that makes great tasting beer true to style. All kits yield 23 litres."

Never seen a kit like that before, sounds like a really good approach, so I'd have had very high hopes for one of those kits. Just goes to show that there are some excellent 1.5-8kg one can kits out there these days.Johnnee wrote:As per kit instructions made up to 23L.
