What's a fresh FV full of wort supposed to taste like?

Made one of the jimw86 kits up yesterday with a cascade tea, 1kg medium spray malt and a tub of honey. When taking a reading for the OG i tried a small amount and had to spit it out... It tasted really foul and left a bad taste in my mouth. It's now fermenting and got a massive head on it. Is it supposed to taste like that or is there something not right?

Depending on what type and how much hops are used in the brew, this can give it a really bitter taste to begin with.

I put 2x20g into 2 percolators and brewed them for about 30 mins so 40g overall. Will take a measurement in the week and dabble my tongue again!

The wort will taste bitter and sweet, hence the expression. Leave it a while. 'Things can only get better' ..... sorry about that.

Just don't spit into the FV.

Out of curiousity I tried it last night and the harsh flavour has gone. I'm extremely happy... It's going to be a good one I think :)
