I fill a large pan half full of boiling water and mix the DME in with a balloon whisk, while keeping the pan on the heat. Just make sure it doesn't boil over.

Last night I ran up a Cooper's IPA: Tipped the dme into an empty FV and threw about two litres of hot water in on top. It was a bit clumpy to start with but after a bit of thrashing it had all dissolved apart from a couple of lumps. Then in with the can, followed by a can full of boiling water. Then the rest of the cold water, whilst thrashing like a maniac.

All seems well...

I just heat boiler to about 80c and then add all the DME, then stir with a big spoon. I never have a problem with it dissolving. I am a bit puzzled as to what the fuss is about.
