Coopers Euro lager

Is it normal to have sediment settle so fast in the Fv? The kit has been in the Fv for 20 mins and its settled already, seems quick.

Maybe the yeast you pitched?
I cant say I have ever noticed sediment at the bottom
of the FV in 20 mins.

Just done one of these, followed the instructions to the letter and now have a very nice batch of Lager. I pitched the yeast that came with the kit by sprinkling the yeast over the top of brew. Place in the right temp and after 24 hours it had a nice head on it. I did not check my Fv for 24 hours so cant answer your question, but i would leave it for 24 to 36 hourse them check it again to see if there is a nice head on it.

Had a sneaky peek in the Fv today and the brew has a good foamy head on it,so it is obviously brewing away nicely. The same with the Coopers dark ale, nice thick foamy head. Will keep you posted on progress.

I've used the flava pack with a Coopers Australian lager brewed with lager yeast and couldn't taste any difference between that and my "normal" Coopers Australian brews. That said, I don't have the most deserning of taste buds so maybe others will disagree.

I do this kit all the time. As you probably know, it has a lager yeast, and is best fermented at a lower temp, I do mine at around 13 degrees c. it will take around 2.5 weeks to ferment out (longer than ale kits), mine finish at around 1012, with a BKE used. It will make some eggy smells. I prime with about 180gm sugar, this gives a good fizz. It's ready to drink (in my opinion) in 3 weeks in the bottle. I recently found one that had been in the bottle for 2 months, and it was even better. I bottled a kit a week ago, and it cleared in 4 days, lovely.

Like Mickhew I rate this kit. I brewed some in January at about 14/15c for fifteen days and got it down to 1007/8 using one kilo of spraymalt and reducing the length to 20 litres. It's currently in the garage until May and if it will be anything as good as the brew I did last year I'll be well pleased. It cleared very quickly in the bottle but that's irrelevant if it's going to be stored and matured for twelve weeks.

I've just done a modified coopers eu lager this weekend. I noticed sediment at the bottom too. I think it must be the undisolved/settled DME.
