Ah, my second home. :D
If Plymouth Tesco started selling Home Brew gear, they would label it wrong, mess up the promotional offers, be out of stock, and the date rotation would be awful.
Needs more Cowbell.

Cor Blimey! Never intended to start a revolution! :D

One of the branches near to me is currently being extended to make it into a "superhugegiganticenormousmassive" store, so they may start stocking when finished...

I like my LHBS (Mansfield) and will continue to use him but I was just curious as to what was actually available in Tesco. I seem to be getting a hint that the actual beer/lager kits aren't very good brands. New to this so still establishing what is good and bad. Judging by the results I've had from my latest Brewmaker kit in comparison to a Cooper's one I'm learning that all kit's are certainly NOT as good as each other!

Incidentally Ditch, I did try asking one of the staff who gave me the type of look you would expect if I'd asked her if they sold small packets of Anthrax. Then a big smile filled her face and she excitedly and proudly led me off along the length of the store to the drinks aisles. "Ah sorry," says I, "I was looking for HOME BREW not bloody IRN BRU!" #-o

Regarding the York Tescos & nearest LHBS, the york online homebrew store is a 5min drive, round the ring road from Tescos, down from the Ainsty pub. I've been there a few times in my lunch hour. Well worth the trip, full range of Cooper kits, malts etc. The Tesco range is very limited. Only thing I got from there is Campden tablets as I'd forgot to buy them.

You're not missing much as the Tesco range is mostly the budget kits.

yep, as i said, the only 2-can kit i've seen in there is the Wherry, so if you're not after budget kits, it's probably not the place. for anyone wanting to start, it's pretty good, got everything you'd need to do your first brew, and things like campden tabs and sterilising stuff, which it's handy to be able to get, if you run out.

As for '5 minutes round the ring road' .. yeah, i suppose it is, if you can find somewhere to set the helicopter down! I hate that ring road!

My satnav moaned at me for miles when I decided against its advice to get onto the York ringroad, a few months back
But I was right!
