Modifying a Muntons Dockland Porter Kit

Post by subfaction » Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:37 pm

Hi Chaps,

I'm keen on mixing things up a touch for my next kit, and am looking for suggestions on how to approach improving the 2 can porter kit.

I was thinking of adding cocoa powder and blackberries, but not sure on how much and when to add, any pointers?

cheers

anyone tried something like this...
Make kit as normal in primary for 5d
Rack to secondary onto:
2.5 kg of frozen blackberries squashed and pasturised for 15mins @ 70c, then cooled to ambient.
60g of cocoa powder in secondary, just sprinkled/stired in half way through 10d.

Left for say 10d in secondary?

how does that sound?
I'm worried I'd be adding too many fermentables?
