Im biased towards the Brewferm kits myself - i've yet to have a bad one
The coopers kits on t'other hand can be a little tricky - using proper lager yeast you'll need to employ temperature control as high fermentation temps can lead to off flavours

Haven't tried the brewfern one as did the coopers first, but if it's lager you're after then spending a little to get a suitable set up is worth it. I spent too long trying ale yeast lagers.

Could you recommend something I could keep a lager FV in to keep the temp around 11-12°C?cellone wrote:Haven't tried the brewfern one as did the coopers first, but if it's lager you're after then spending a little to get a suitable set up is worth it. I spent too long trying ale yeast lagers.

There are superb examples of posters brewfridge set up's on this site, a tall larder fridge, greenhouse type heater and a thermostatic cut off to control them look's a simple option. Based on their experience there are a lot of better positioned posters who could answer your question. It is worth searching the site or posting a new thread if you don't find what you're looking for.

Hi
Check out the Brewing Equipment section on this forum, as long as you have some practical DIY skills and can follow instructions, then building a brewfridge isn't that difficult.
My whole build including an under the counter style fridge from eBay cost me around £80.
Basic parts that you require are a donor fridge, temperature controller and a waterproof tubular heater.
It has taken the faff out of brewing for me!
