force carbonation with cornie co2 charger

hi all does anybody out there know if it is possible to force carbonate with a cornelius charger , i have been putting my brews in the cornie a day or two earlier than the final gravity should be and secondery fermenting plus two gas cartradges to get more pressure in my keg ,just wondering if i am wasteing my time secondery fermenting and could just force carbonate :?: [thanks :D ]

Most people who use cornies only force carbonate and dont secondary ferment in the cornie.

Get your beer bright, transfer to cornie and add about *30 psi and store cool for a week, then release the pressure to serving pressure.

*this will alter depending on type of beer and carbonation required.

hi geeza cant belive it just picked up a gas bottle and gas for very cheap just going to order a pressure gauge i. i normaly brew beer or ale type brews ; what pressure would you give them [thanks :D ] ps goodbye to the co2 charger

Personally, I would hitch the pressure to 20-30 psi depending on beer type and how much fizz you like...for a pale ale 25-30 psi for darer ales 15-20 psi (my own preference) store it cold for a week or 2, then reduce pressure to 2-3 psi for serving.

It all comes down to your own set up and personal prefference. Trial and erroe i'm affraid.
