Best beer for Cornies?

Post by cr0fty » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:59 am

Good day fine brewers.

I'm curious to know what type of beers you store in your Cornies?

I'm going to put a lager in but I hear they don't last as long as others. How long, on average, will it last before it starts to deteriorate?

Cheers fellow wise ones,

I put most of my brews in my limited supply of cornies.... I still use the basic kegs for stout, porter and cider but will be looking to put the cider into cornies later in the summer - if we ever get one that is!!!

Well, 9 cornies filled with stouts, ales, lagers, all at various levels of carbonation. As for how long before the contents deteriorate, i have no idea because i tend to rotate through them in about 3 months (ish). As they are stainless steel and pressurised with CO2 i would have thought the beers would last longer than in a standard keg, but i could be wrong (and usually am!).
