little things!

Last Christmas I received a homebrew starter kit.I added to my equipment by buying a second barrel.Thought I was all set .Never been disappointed with any kit in the last six months.every thing was rosy.Apart from one thing, them annoying b@@@@rd 8th sparklet bulbs. What a waste of time.five quid a month to loose half my gas to the air.Yesterday I purchased two new caps for my kegs with s30's and the big hambleton bard cylinder.what a difference, now I'm happy, now I can gass up my kegs properly.I'm chuffed!

I must admit this was my experience too, back in the day. The S30s are much better IMHO, but just check them after each use - very occasionally the freezing effect can stop their valve closing completely so you need to run the nozzle (only) under warm water or something like that.

Have a look at your old caps. Some of them can be converted to S30's by removing the pin part and putting it back in the other way round, ie pin down. Bit late as you have purchased new but if its doable on your old ones you have a couple of spares.

Oh and buy another cylinder, always best to have a spare as they always run out when you want to use them..

And then you get to your LHBS for a refill, only to realise that it's still in the brew cupboard.
