newish kits from hambleton bard
Re: newish kits from hambleton bard
I bottled my IPA last week after shifting it to another FV for a few days. One of the bottles is a clear glass Tanglefoot bottle (I'm conditioning in a dark cupboard and there are no fluorescents in the house, so light strike's not an issue) and I can see the beer's almost completely clear. I have had a crafty bottle already and it's really, really nice, lots of lovely big malt and hop flavours developing. Plenty of beer for the Jubilee weekend then

has anyone hacked these... i have the pils and the ipa ready to roll... would like to try them straight up if possible but liek a bit of hop aroma...should i dry hop ? i usually hop the life out of coopers to get a great beer.

I made a hop tea of 30g Golding hops and added to my ipa. Can't say whether it made it better or not, as haven't tried a plain version. But it's a very nice drink

Think I may get an IPA and a Coopers IPA and ferment them side by side for comparison.

Just like trying new ideas!
Re: newish kits from hambleton bard
Drinking a pint of my mild now...like the others not that impressed. Considering the price it's not bad but as my previous brew was Coopers Stout it's a bit of a let down compared to that.
Re: newish kits from hambleton bard
Brewed the pils as per instructions and really liked the flavour, but going to try with a lager yeast when my new fermentation fridge is set up. I would recomend trying it straight for the first go, it has plenty of aroma and taste but I think it might be bit crisper with true lager yeast.jabbathehut wrote:has anyone hacked these... i have the pils and the ipa ready to roll... would like to try them straight up if possible but liek a bit of hop aroma...should i dry hop ? i usually hop the life out of coopers to get a great beer.

I had a couple of pints of my Brother-in-laws kegged 4wk old Yorkshire Bitter at the weekend, and even though he made a newbie error and brewed it with basic white sugar it was actually quite tasty

Its been 3 weeks since i bottled my czech pilsner....and im already half way thru it :S it is a very nice pint i must say i made mine up with 500g light spray malt and 500g dextrose and a glug of golden syrup left to ferment for roughly 3 weeks and primed with 130g granulated sugar i think it came out around 5.5% roughly....a very recommended kit to anyone.

would they benefit from dry hopping / hop tea ? have ipa and czech lager to do this week hopefully
