Brain on auto pilot,silly mistake

Post by dericboy1 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 1:01 pm

Just transferring a Brewers Choice Bavarian Weissbier to second fv with the intention of adding some finings to clear it up a bit before bottling, but as the heading says my brain went into auto pilot and i added my priming sugar which i what i would have normally done at this stage
Where do i stand now? will it be alright to add the finings still and then when it has cleared add some more priming sugar before bottling?

Add the finings and more priming sugar at bottling. Give it a few days to make sure the priming sugar you just added has fermented first.
I'm just here for the beer.

I done something simmilar, but I sucked a load of sediment up whilst priming, I left it a couple of days to settle but DIDNT add more sugar to prime and I now have flat Export :( so yeah deffinatley add more sugar at bottling

Thank you Rookie, I will add the finings now and prime later as you said.
Will learn from your lesson too Winka.

Make sure it is flat before you prime and bottle. I had a fair old fight to get one batch in the bottles when I let it carbonate in the bottling barrel #-o .
