The strange thing was there was tags in all of the out of stock items saying more would be coming in tomorrow... so not sure they are discontinuing the homebrew lines

Maybe they aren't discontinuing the range(although i was told by an employee last time i went they were)... However between us on this site wr must have spent a couple grand plus whatever else we bought,i bet it adds up across the country if a lot of people did the same

Yes, but if we spent s couple of grand, it was a couple of grand where they either no or very little profit, or most likely a loss. People only rushed to buy because it was so cheap...

The only other thing I can think, is that they are trying to get people to buy the stuff, so people either get in to homebrew and then buy from Tesco, or get people who brew to know Tesco do kits to get more business... If that is the idea, then I echo the thoughts that I got it wrong affect lhbs... But, unless Tesco dramatically improve their range of products,I don't think they should cause any effects...

I spoke to a staff member in a smaller store the day i got mine, he said they only had it in for Fathers Day. Not sure if that just applied to the smaller stores though....

At the large Bristol store last night all the John Bull kits were still £6.50 - all the coopers etc were still full price.

Manager said something about them rebranding them.

Indeed, thank you very mice.I'm actually making two brews this morning. A Woodford Wherry and a coopers Stout. Will look nice conditioning next to my milestone IPA which I just kegged today.

Although I've had to compromise and take the ball and chain for an Indian tonight in return for the extra space I need to take up.
