Got a coopers aussie lager should be ready to bottle tomorrow. Anyway instructions suggest 8g sugar per litre, which at 23L 184g is this ok? Seems a little high to me.
Tastybrew.com's priming calculator suggests (using american lager as style) about 134g.
First time bottling, I don't want a bottle bomb so any input would be great.
Also I just dumped the sugar in previously for bulk prime but I've heard a solution would be better so how much water would I need to dissolve the sugar in? Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Bulk Priming
8g per litre is about right for a lager.
My current Coopers Euro lager was primed at 7g per litre and feels spot on IMO.
When priming at these levels, just check and double check that primary fermentation is over, and use decent glass bottles.
I put my priming sugar into a large sanitised pyrex jug and slowly pour boiling water in while stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
You will probably need 200-300ml.

Re: Bulk Priming
Hi, I don't make/drink lager so I can't say about quantity of priming sugar.
But definitely dissolve the sugar in some boiled water and let it cool a bit.
Put it in the bottom of the bottling bucket and syphon on top that way you will get an even distribution of the sugar solution.
Cheers

Well, hydrometer reading was the same as 2 days ago so primary finished. All bottled up now.
