Hop pack in St Peters kits

Post by fatbutthin » Sat Jul 14, 2012 3:52 pm

I recently brewed a St Peter's IPA kit but the hop pack, when pitched into the mix clumped together, I guess due to the maltodextrin that the hop oil is mixed in with. Is there a different way that I can get the hop pack into the mix without it clumping? This used to happen when I added spraymalt to one can kits which is why I went onto the 2 can kits.

Cheers

Ok, so I sprinkled really slowly whilst stirring and it seems a lot better than the first time ... it's all good.

I'm a complete newbie but I did read about only putting a quarter of the hop sachet in and this was backed by a few others, although that was for the ruby red pack.
