Hint of a TCP taste.
Re: Hint of a TCP taste.
We don't have any limescale here and I can use water out of the tap. I am guessing thats the issue in hard water areas.
People have suggested using the water you can buy from Aquarium stockists as this is purified for fishy uses.
Also distilled water.

Re: Hint of a TCP taste.
Well i finally cracked it tonight and got to the bottom of this.
After pouring the coopers draught down the sink
I brewed up an Aussie APA this has a slight TCP taste and a Coopers IPA very slight TCP taste.
I followed the advice from some lads after the coopers draught saga of the rinsing to death of my FV followed by a campden tablet in the final rinse water .
The penny only dropped tonight when i was bottling up a wherry from the other F.V. great taste no hint of TCP. I thought to myself what is different this time ?? I am brewing from my bottling bucket. Hmmmmmmmmm.
After cleaning up my FV after a brew i did months ago i stupidly emptied water and yeast etc down the toilet along with the tap locknut.
I thought i was lucky as i had some spare 3/4" BSP? lock nuts handy, but these Fe**in nuts have got a chemical TCP smell to them and this is the cause of the taste in my beer . I am certain this is the case
So absolutely pissed of that it has taken me three brews to figure out the problem
