2 Cans in one brew
2 Cans in one brew
Would it be ok to add 2 cans of the same kit to make up a brew? ie 2 cans of geordie mild...then not adding any other sugar..or would it not work the same like wherry kits??

I've done it a few times with various Coopers recipes.
You just need to be aware that you will be doubling the hop flavours and bitterness of the single can kit, but as it is a 'mild' you may just end up with a malty, hoppy dark ale.
If you do go for it, I would use both yeast sachets.

Re: 2 Cans in one brew
Ah ok so it won't necessarily turn out nicer...I was only thinking of doing it because of the recent bargains at Tesco and wilko the cost of putting 2 cans in one kit would obv work out same as 1 kit..although I'm waiting for my local wilko to drop their prices then I was planning on getting the Geordie yorkshire bitter....thanks for the input tho monkeybrew and timbo..

Yes, a 1.5kg tin of LME is roughly the equivalent of 1.1kg of DME.sbond10 wrote:So you could put a kit and lme instead of DME
I'm currently enjoying a Coopers Aussie Bitter brewed with 1.5kg of light LME and some hops, and it has a nice body to it

The only downside to LME, is that it can work out more expensive than DME.

Yes but if it was liquid already wouldn't it mean less water so maybe a thicker brew ?
Re: 2 Cans in one brew
I don't know if you've done a Geordie Yorkshire Bitter before, but I'm just on my last bottle of the stuff brewed with 500g light DME and 500g dextrose and using a spare Coopers yeast I had. I certainly wont be doing another, in my opinion it is only fit to be used to make a shandy with. It is bitter with virtually no other flavour. It is just about drinkable but quite frankly with so many other good kits on the market it's not worth going for the cheaper option. However if you do decide to do a Geordie kit I would definitely recommend using at least 1.5kg of liquid malt extract and preferably even a 2kg to try to improve it to the standard of the better kits. This of course is just my opinion, other folks maybe think it's a great kit, who knows?markle wrote:Ah ok so it won't necessarily turn out nicer...I was only thinking of doing it because of the recent bargains at Tesco and wilko the cost of putting 2 cans in one kit would obv work out same as 1 kit..although I'm waiting for my local wilko to drop their prices then I was planning on getting the Geordie yorkshire bitter....thanks for the input tho monkeybrew and timbo..
