Once you have mixed up your wort to your desired brewlength, just make sure that the FV lid is sealed tight and keep it at room temp whilst the yeast is growing. Certainly makes sense starting the 6g off allowing it to grow; after all yeast does just that. I suppose its a juggling act between starting the yeast and its multiplication and judging the cooling to enable pitching?
