If you are forced to buy commercial beer try to buy it in swingtop bottles, this way your buying homebrew equipment with beer inside.

That's a good idea didn't think of that I work in a pub so bottles arnt really a problem but we don't do any swing tops I don't think

You need to get on to the landlord/manager then and see if there are any spare crates kicking about, they're getting rarer as everything comes in polythene and cardboard.
