If you use the bag to syphon the brew with, it catches what little gunk is still floating about.

My bottles are crystal clear after a fortnight.

Yeah I wouldnt mess with the instructions, the sugar is there just to bulk up the abv, there is enough malt extract in there to stop it being thin and the kits come out really well just made to spec

I was up in the attic fetching a demijohn of wine to bottle and couldnt resist an Old Suffolk winking at me.

This has been three weeks in the cold conditioning. I think it may have been a tad cold, so I lost some of the finer nuances.

The hop aroma has subdued since it has been in the bottle. A hint of lemons but I have a poor sense of smell so can't be too sure.

The initial taste is like a mild seville orange marmalade with a clean finish. The strength is well hidden, you could quaff this all night but now the glass is empty I can feel it.

If I was being picky I felt the finish was a bit overly clean for a strong ale. However I supped the dregs, as you do, and got a loverly marmalade finish.

The next bottle I will drink nearer room temperature and pour it all in one go. The yeast compacts down well so only a small amount goes in the glass.

This has been my most expensive kit so far and I think worth every penny.

To sum up in one word: Fanfookingtastic =D>
