My first ever brew is under carbonated :(

Just tested one of my first ever batch and its flatter than a witches tit!

I suppose I'm being a bit over critical but it's definitely not like the picture on the box (Coopers Australian Lager).

Fortunately I think I know the reason......I only added 1/2 teaspoon of dextrose to every 500ml bottle.

On the plus side it tastes good so wont go to waste. I suppose you live and learn!

Half teaspoon should give reasonable ale-like carbonation but will almost certainly be underprimed for a lager. Drink it anyway and learn for next time :)

I bulk prime with 160g dextrose to 20 litres, not sure what the conversion in to T spoons would be. Wouldn't go higher than one per 500ml bottle though.

Beer has now been put back in the airing cupboard, I will check it again in 2 weeks.
