There's 23 litres of Festival Pride Of London Porter sitting in the corner of our kitchen. It's at 22.5°C which it's been at from the start, and it's been at 1010 for the last 3 days. Problem is, the airlock's still having a glug every half hour or so and today is day 23!
I've never made a kit beer that was still fermenting after more than a fortnight, so the question is - how much longer do I leave this one before I bottle it?
Festival kit on day 23 and counting ...
Re: Festival kit on day 23 and counting ...
Given that the hydro has not moved for three days I'd go ahead and bottle it now. At one bubble every half hour it is really not very active now so time to get it in the bottles with some priming sugar and allow it to start conditioning. Don't forget to come back and let us know what the end product is like in a few weeks (or months if it lasts that long!).
Happy brewing,
Ian.

Your hydrometer is your friend
, its saying the gravity of the beer is stable so go ahead and bottle.
The air from the lock is probably bubbles trapped in the yeast sediment and occasionally rising to the surface, some yeasts do this more than others.

Cheers chaps. It's in bottles now, so I'll let you know in a couple of months what we think to it. If it's as nice or better than Munton's Porter I'll be happy
