coopers euro lager and bottle conditioning

Post by harbinger » Wed Apr 24, 2013 9:40 pm

Ok so i've made my first kit which was coopers lager and its ok doesnt really taste like lager as such but its drinkable so i've bought the euro lager as my next kit which contains lager yeast as opposed to the ale yeast in the first kit,As most of you will know these kits come with generic instructions and a paragraph about euro lager. So the question I have is if the lager yeasty's like low tempratures when i come to carbonate(bought the drops this time) does the temprature have to be over 18c to carbonate as per instructions or should i go for the lower temprature that the yeastys like.

So to simplfy is carbonation temprature dependant or do i just need happy yeastys

for the first kit it was kit + granulated sugar
this kit i've gone for 500g brewing sugar + 500g light spraymalt might at saaz or challenger teabag later,i'm expecting this to be nicer!!!!!

I carbonate my bottles at room temperature for a couple of weeks then cold store them after that.

Same as Cellone, carb at room temp. Then condition in cold. I fermented the euro at a low temp, it took about 3 months until it was ready to drink. When it was ready it was spot on! Wish I had some more!
