Hi All,
I'm relatively new to this and need some advice. I've got a Woodforde kit on the go and it's been in the pressure vessel for weeks. I've tried it a couple of times now and it is still tasting a bit "green". A bit like it does in the fermenting bin. Also, it's still cloudy. There is plenty of pressure there so it's done something but I'm still not happy. Do I need to restart fermentation? If so, how? This is about the 7th kit I've done and I've never had a problem up until now. By the way, it there another style of tap for those plastic kegs because they do create a lot of foam. You have to open it soooo carefully.
Many thanks in advance.
Still not ready.
Re: Still not ready.
How long is "weeks"? Two weeks or twelve? It is not unusual for a Wherry to take three months to fully condition.
As for taps on pressure barrels, I have read reports of folks using a "Dalex" tap with good results (search the forum, I;'m sure you will find more than you ever wanted to know). Me? I'm too tight to pay for another tap, so I just learned to use the cheapie lever ones that come with the barrel
Happy brewing,
Ian.

Thanks Ian,
I will look into those taps. It has been 3 months. I've never had to wait this long for a woodforde kit before. Maybe too cold over winter. It has been in the kitchen but still.
