Brewers Spring Kit?

Post by LeeH » Sun Feb 16, 2014 4:12 pm

Has anybody used one of these? My LHBS was selling them off for 15 as they are out of date. They threw in some fresh yeast too but I thought I'd try the M84. ImageImage

Brewers' wort, from a kit.

The 7.5 Litres of concentrated brewers' wort in a bladder container contribute to producing some of the finest beers under the sun.

This puts you on the fast track to enjoying microbrewery style beers from a simple to use kit.
First trialled in the U.S., you can now get the quality of a full grain mashed beer with the ease of making a kit.

The concentrated wort enables you to continue the brewing process as if you were in the brewery.

Ultimately, with good conditioning the improvement in the breadth & depth of taste that comes from fully mashed beers is the arbiter.

More than double the size of most other UK kits.

Adds a whole new dimension to home beer making.

The simple 3 step brewing process creates quality mashed beer every time!

Each pack contains full instructions with 7.5 litres of pure liquid wort of commercial quality producing great tasting beer with authenticity.
The aseptic packaging helps preserve the freshness & quality in readiness for brewing.
Everything is included, including a top quality yeast and the priming sugar and where the beer style requires it bentonite and hop pellets.

Each kit brews 23Litres or 40 pints of between 4.5 - 5.5% ABV.
With 7.5 Litres of concentrated wort its little wonder that these contribute to being 'quality mashed beers in a kit'.

'I must add - I have tried these kits and they are superb!' – Emma.

I put a Brewers Spring lager kit on a few days ago. I tossed out the supplied Coopers yeast in favour of a Saflager S-23 and topped off to about 20l. This is my first Brewers Spring. I will report on the outcome.

Certainly an interesting kit concept, I'll be following this thread with interest.

They told me they were discontinued but I wasn't sure if that meant everywhere.

Brewers Spring lager bottled tonight in 500ml pet bottles. Sample tells me it is going to be quite drinkable. Stay tuned for updates.

Now drinking the Brewers Spring lager. Had better, had worse. Drinkable but could use a tad more bitterness. Just my opinion.
My local shop tells me the brand is not being discontinued.

Hmmmm, I've not done a larger before. It's doesn't smell the best in the FV.

I cannot believe I have an infection as I'm really anal with the cleaning regime.

It's like a sharp smell but not vinegar like.

Cold fermented lager brews will give off some funky odours.

I usually experience sulphurous (rotten eggs) smells.

That's the one! Thanks Mr Monkeybrew.

How is I go about largering this? I guess I rack it off after fermentation is complete or slow?
