coopers APA question

Post by Haggis » Sun Jun 08, 2014 4:42 pm

Hello there, when I was making up a coopers APA this afternoon I noticed some floating material in the kit can after pouring in a kettle of boiling water and giving it a good stir. The plastic lining inside the can was perfect and my plastic stirrer shows no sign of wear. I have never seen this before. Is this hop material or what?

Do you get fur in your kettle by any chance?

Hello again i have noticed calcium scale deposits in the kettle since our water was moved to another source some years back, not exactly a floating fur more of a scale.
Whilst rinsing out the can with boiling water from the kettle there seemed to be "furry floaters" i thought it could have been hop leaf material. I guess i will just have to see how things turn out and hope it is harmless and doesn't affect the brew.

Thanks .
