How to dispense my beer Ditch's Stout
I've got 20l of Ditch's stout nearly ready. This is my first brew after a bit of a break. I used to have a full cornie and pub gas setup but don't have that anymore due to space.
Anyway I need to invest in some method of dispensing the brew and my next few brews going forwards.
I guess I have 4 options
1 tap-a-draft system from wilko's
2 wilko's pressure barrel with top injector
3 king keg or the like
4 2 x 10 litre polypins
The options are all roughly the same cost but which would be best? Or are there any other options around up to about £50
Thanks

I thought it was traditional to drink Ditch's Stout straight from the FV.

I use a King Keg. It's very reliable, and holds pressure well. Trouble is, I get tons of froth, and have to dispense into a jug first, let it settle, top it up, then pour to glass. I prime with 80 gm sugar, so it's not like I'm over priming. Good keg though.

I might just do that although it means I can't get another brew on until it's finished.asd wrote:I thought it was traditional to drink Ditch's Stout straight from the FV.

Mini Kegs are good n they can fit in the fridge SWMBO permitting. iBrew is OK I've just striped mine and rebuilt it but its one supplier and no options. I'll be using it or at least the bottles for some time I got a load cheap.
Thing is what are you going to do for cooling? I'm bottling until the year cools, troublesome but at least I can get a few in the fridge.

Cheapo pressure barrel is your friend. Cooper's stout is best drunk young, so a week in the barrel with 60-80gm sugar should do you right.
Get in and amongst every night till it's gone.

Do you think I need the injector top or is the standard one ok?MartyMcFly wrote:Cheapo pressure barrel is your friend. Cooper's stout is best drunk young, so a week in the barrel with 60-80gm sugar should do you right.

Re: How to dispense my beer Ditch's Stout
I use a cheapo pressure barrel, modded with a dalex free flow tap.
It seems to give enough control to prevent a glass full of froth.

We'll on this occasion I decided to get a couple of 10l polypins and bottle 5 pints in lidl cider bottles. It was an interesting experience filling the polypins, note to self don't try to hold the polypins under the fermenter tap put it on a solid surface.
