Just opened an 8 month old 2l PET of Geordie Yorkshire that I had forgotten was in the cupboard in the shed. If memory serves me, I used 500g of med spray malt and a 454g tin of golden syrup to 20l.
Wow! It's magic.
Confirmed to me that the budget kits really aren't all that bad. Plus, there were another 2 bottles next to it.
Happy days.

Re: Geordie Yorkshire Bitter
I'm a fan of Geordie Yorkshire Bitter and usually make it with 500 grams light hopped spray malt and a similar amount of sugar. It's my standard brew (I do many other types) and people who try it are usually impressed.
Re: Geordie Yorkshire Bitter
I did a simple Geordie Bitter last year with 1 kg of light spray malt and it was very nice, it even won a local village shows beer making section, taking best kit and overall beer pitted against the all grain brewers!!
