Youngs American Craft Brewing Kits - anyone finished one?

I've just ordered the American Pale Ale Kit from the above new range by Youngs (also Amber and IPA) and wondered if anybody had got one to either bottling/kegging or even drinking one yet?

Any thoughts or advice on the M.O. ?

I too am interested to hear how these kits turn out, particularly the IPA. I'mespecially keen to hear any comparitive thoughts to the Festival Razorback IPA which to date, is the best kit I've ever brewed. These Youngs kits are clearly put together in a similar vein to the Festival ones.

I bottled a Festival Golden Stag a couple of weeks ago and, as the sun was out Friday, I tried a cheeky one as a marker for later! 8) I must say it was pretty good already!

This Youngs one is going to have to be good to surpass that! I'm torn between doing the Landlords Best (in storage) and the Youngs APA next. :?:

If i do the latter, I'll follow the instructions to the letter as a base review for others.

In on this thread for the exact same reason.

Looking to brew the APA, hoping it's going something like my fave tipple Punk IPA.

Lee, I read recently that the APA is considered very similar to Sierra Nevada whilst the IPA is similar to Goose Island. Not sure whether those were the styles that Young's tried to imitate by design or not though.

Thanks Gav, I'll give that ago as I like Sierra Nevada too.

I wonder if adding the punk hops to it instead of the supplied ones will work?

Bought mine from Brewmonkey, good price for a 4kg kit, took an age to ferment, but, what an IPA !
Just conditioning in king keg @12deg but have tried some...
Absolutely bang on!!!
