John Bull IPA

I've just made five gallons of John Bull IPA with one kilo of light spraymalt. Has anyone done this kit to a similar specification?

I bottled mine up last sunday but I used 750g sugar and 250g medium sdme. Was two weeks in fv, cloudy when bottled so looking forward to it when it clears. Smelt strong when bottling sg1048 fg 1008. Brewed to 21ltrs.

I have recently purchased this kit. Plan to add 1kg beer enhancer, 250 grams golden caster sugar. Then dry hop with 50 - 100 grams of cascade.

Plan to put the brew on Sunday.

I done this with 1kg BKE and dry hopped with 50g of Galaxy,bottled 6th july,should be ready for a tester soon

I bottled my five gallons on 19th July after nine days in the fermenation bin and have sampled two pints for quality assurance purposes. While it is not as bitter as a genuine IPA (compare Coopers) it is already very quaffable and can only get better. Looking forward to the next 36 bottles (never seem to get 40 pints from a kit).

This has turned out very well indeed, good lasting head, nice taste not too bitter, no hint of homebrew. I will deffo be doing this kit again. Brewed mine with 750g brewing sugar and 250g mdme to 21ltr if it helps. Turned out 5% so you don't need many....

Good to hear that this is a decent pint. Just picked up a couple in the Tesco sale on a whim for £9 each as well as some BKE. I'll be putting this on later in the week.

That's just how I see it Frogbrew - very drinkable. Hope you had a good time in Turkey. There's an added bonus to going on holiday as your home brew awaits you on return and is a week or two older, plus you haven't decimated your stocks while you're away - unless you take a crate with you.

Had a great time thanks! True what you say about leaving it a bit longer, patience is not one of my strong points.....
