I think my coopers bitter is about ready for putting in my new Wilko budget pressure barrel with co2 injector cap. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated
I don't want to cock any thing up at this stage! Do Ineed to mix in beer finings as i bought some? And how much sugar do I add? This and any other useful advice and help would be greatly appreciated eg should I buy a float?
first time barrelling advice please?

Syphon carefully and avoid introducing air in to the beer. Keep the syphon exit below the beer level.....even better if you can give the barrel a little blast of CO2.
Priming is personal preference really, but for a 23 litre brew in that type of barrel I would use 50g. Dissolve this in a small amount of water and microwave to boil and sanitise. You will then have a liquid sugar solution that will mix easily.
Finings is again a personal preference, the beer will drop bright either way.
No, don't get a float.....serve from the bottom.

Add about 60-80gms of sugar, I usually boil mine up in water dissolve it and then stick it straight in the barrel before transfer, avoid splashing as much as you can. I wouldn't bother with finings for a kit.
Put some vasaline around the cap and after finishing screw on the top and add a blast of CO2, listen for leaking and if all is well gently unscrew to allow the CO2 to push any remaining oxygen out of the barrel.
Screw it back up and sit for a couple of weeks.

Hi
Assuming that you are barrelling the whole 40 pint batch, then 80g of normal table sugar will be fine. I would dissolve it in a small amount of boiling water before adding it to the PB and then carefully siphon your brew in on top of the sugar solution.
I've never used finings, so couldn't comment on when or how to add them I'm afraid. Coopers yeast will drop clear pretty quickly on it's own though.
Make sure that the screw-in tap is tight before filling!
Make sure that the flat white seal in the PB cap is properly seated in its recess.
Make sure the brass CO2 fitting is properly tightened in the PB cap.
Smear a small covering of vasoline on the face of the flat white seal in the PB cap and also apply some to the threads in the cap.
Lastly, when fitting the cap to the PB, avoid the temptation to over tighten it as this normally twists the seal and allows all of your priming CO2 to escape!
Oh yeah, I always draw a small glass of beer from my PB to check that the brew is carbing up
Cheers
