Ok so I was visiting family this weekend and got told that Wilkos in Rochdale is having a sale due to closing down.
Got a few things, although i dont think they were cheaper than any other Wilko's but besides the point. I still new to this so my question: Is there a difference between spray malt and beer lit enhancer? I ask because I've never used either but there was only one bag of each left on the shelves so picked up 1x 550g light spray malt, 1x 500g medium spray malt and 1x 1kg beer kit enhancer. having looked at the ingredients of the enhancer it is basically just spay malt?
Also picked up 3 x kits:
Hoppy Copper Bitter
Cerveza Mexican style
Woodfordes Wherry Bitter
Any tips with any of these kits?

I believe that the BKE Wilko sell (Geordie or Muntons branded?) is a 50/50 mix of spraymalt and dextrose.
I've brewed all 3 of those kits. The cerveza is fine brewed with dextrose. The Hoppy Copper not so good with dextrose. Maybe needs perking up with some hops too. The Wherry's lovely brewed to 20 litres as-is.
This is just my tastes of course!

Yep your correct its the Muntons BKE and is a 50/50 spraymalt/dextrose mix, but they both say they are direct replacement for sugar?

Two-can kits, such as Wherry, don't need any additional fermentables added. Single-can kits, like your Hoppy Copper and your Cerveza, require additional fermentables to be added to make your beer.
The recipe normally calls for sugar. Depending on your budget and / or preferences you can replace the sugar with another fermentable. You can replace the sugar with a number of different different fermentables. Either BKE or spray malt can be substituted pound for pound.
Sugar adds to the alcohol content but does nothing for body. Replacing the sugar with malt will add to both the alcohol and body. Using BKE will add more body than sugar alone, but not as much as malt.
Malt isn't as fermentable as sugar, so pound for pound you won't get as much alcohol from malt as from an equivalent amount of BKE, and you won't get as much BKE as you will from an equivalent amount of sugar.

sugar and dextrose will both ferment off dry leaving little taste or body, dme will add body and flavor to the beer BUT will benefit from a hot break so boil it up..
