whats quickest kits?
whats quickest kits?
Thinking of getting a couple of brews on the go to get some drinking stock built up. Was wondering if any of you guys know which of the kits that Wilkos sell are known to be pretty quick from starting to drinking?
Thanks
John

Weks,
I was waiting for Ditch to come on here!
He drank his Coopers Stout in desperation after FOUR DAYS in the FV!
Is that Quick enough for you?

+1 for coopers stout.
It was excellent after a week in the Pressure barrel

Can't beat Coopers Stout kits for fast fermenting and quick slurping.
Re: whats quickest kits?
I recently did a coopers Stout, 11 days from Wilkos shelf to my glass and tasted great. Made with 750g dme and 500g brown sugar. Like you I was short of beer so started on it after only 4 days in the bottle. I was amazed. Also Coopers English bitter is drinkable very young as is the Coopers Aussie lager.

Thanks all. I don't mind stout, but I don't drink it very often. The stout served in Ireland tho on holiday in Sligo a few years back was the best I've ever had. I've got coopers bitter in barrel at the mo.
Are there any others that can be bought in wilkos that are pretty quick from FV to drinking?
Thank you all by the way for your replies.
John
PS has Ditch tried just swallowing the coopers stout kit and the yeast and just drinking 5 gallons of water?

Now then ..... (Now then. We're not allowed to say That any more, are we? FFS) I've no idea what stout ye tasted in Galway. I'd like to taste it myself. But, ye Not saying " Guinness " ye tasted. This is good.
Guinness, served in Irish pubs, is largely dish water ~ in my experience. Guinness see to this. It's a drive to appeal to the frozen throated youngsters who will drink my horses piss, without question, as long as it's served cold enough to crack a cast iron f**king down pipe!
What have ye to lose? Check out the replies above. " Coopers Stout " tends to win out. Yeah?
Then, I've a Hundred f**king Pages, under the stickies on this board, discussing how to make a " Coopers Stout " into a " Liquid W@nk ".
I'll stop there. I'm off for another w@nk .....

Listen up pal. There is no such thing as quick kits beer is to be brewed with patient and to be enjoyed in true style its a art my fellow brewer. So take your time and brew. St. Peter's ruby red or cream stout you won't be disappointed it's worth the wait let me know how you get on. I am sure you will be thanking me

Re: whats quickest kits?
Takes a min of 3mths for my brews but that's because I choose to. I add malts, hops and tend to replace the yeast. I love doing the boil, the low and slow fermentation, knowing that it is improving every day when it's lagering, bottling and waiting for carbonation, then putting it back in the cooler for a month and finally drinking tasty crisp beer. It's kit though and could prob's be carbonated, alcoholic and drinkable in 3 to 4 weeks.Drayman wrote:Listen up pal.
