First kit adaption, thoughts?

Post by tony4938 » Sat Nov 15, 2014 5:40 pm

OK so after reading through pages of ideas, making some notes and aquiring the said ingredients, i'm going to attempt my first kit adaption with a Wilkos Hoppy Copper.

My idea is to replace the sugar with 1kg Muntons BKE,
'steep'? 60g East kent goldings from the start
Add a small amout of treacle
then dry hop with some Experimental cf115 towards the end.

Does this sound do-able? or am i WAY off the mark??

Sounds workable to me; the only question mark id have is using treacle in a light beer...I've done it in a stout before but not this. Maybe think about replacing it with golden syrup, as treacle has a very strong favour and i fear it would over power.

Hi Tony

When you say steep 60g of EKG from the start, are you making a hop tea?

Cheers
