The range cider kit

Post by Corps012588 » Wed Nov 19, 2014 12:08 pm

Hi all. Has anyone tried the cider kit available from the range?
I stuck the apple one on yesterday and I'm suspecting my fv definitely has a leak somewhere as there is no sign of action
In the airlock again! ( no activity in airlock with my last brew but it appeared to have fermented!)

Is this an airlock on a bucket? Waste of time for most buckets, very few seal well enough to need one. And the place it fits is somewhere for bacteria etc to hide. My 1gallon bucket with lock has been relegated to sanitiser solution storage. If a bucket does seal well, just cracking the seal a bit when it domes up is enough.

It's actually started bubbling really well now!
When I first started buying my kit I just presumed the airlocks were an important bit
I just bought loads of things I thought I needed as it seemed quite cheap.
I was shocked at the price of pressure barrels though!!!!!
