Bramble stout?
Bramble stout?
i have a coopers stout and a shedload of Brambles in the freezer does anyone have a recipe for a bramble stout?
Re: Bramble stout?
Nope but I recently did a Cherry Stout. Made the stout to Ditch's recipe, waited until fermentation finished then siphoned into a secondary FV with the cherries in a nylon bag and left for another week. Came out very nice indeed!
Re: Bramble stout?
I did one last year, but it was an all-grain brew so the recipe itself wouldn't be much use to you!
I added about 2kg of brambles after the main fermentation had finished, mushed up a bit with a spoon to free the juice, and gave it about 10 days before bottling.
I wish I had put them in a bag, because it was an absolute sod to syphon it into the bottling bucket!
It tasted great, though - a nice subtle background taste.

I wonder what would happen if ye dumped a jar of Nescafe into a BK ....?
Not suggesting anyone does. Just the disconnected ramblings of a disturbed mind.
Sits back and waits for Wales to take the bait! Sniggers!

I've certainly had my own say. I like the way I do it. Others seem to. But, if people, today, want to bend beer in other directions? Fair play!
Let's face it: Wales put a dead chicken in his FV!

Bottled my `Sinatra Stout` today. Then I remembered Ditch`s taunt. Reopened 5 bottles and bunged in some Nescafe! As you do!

It`s only Beer! But not as we know it!

That's a start then, I suppose? Where it might end, I dread to think. But, I'm happy with what I'm drinking right now, to be honest
Dunno. I still have what's left of these three bottles of essences, right here, cluttering up my desk. Should sling them out, I s'pose. Like the ash trays, they're just part of my surroundings now. Of no earthly use to me. Just there.
Bit like my own gear. For me? It's There. Don't feel the need to take it anywhere else. I like it as it is now
