yorkshire Bitter

Post by D4nny74 » Thu Nov 27, 2014 1:00 pm

Hi All

Quick question on re-kegging, I have a Yorkshire bitter in a plastic pressure keg that has been conditioning for about 4 weeks , but i have managed to get hold of some Cornelius kegs , would it harm it if i transferred this to a corny ?and once i start drinking this how long will it last if kept at 10 degrees ?

Regards

Danny

Hello Danny,
If you made 40 pints and you drink 10 pints a day, it will last 4 days! :D :D #-o

Sorry, the main point is to keep it away from oxygen, so the transfer is to be as oxygen free as possible. Fill the corny withco2 then feed in through sterile tube under the co2 layer, it's not ideal but keep it as sterile as possible, how long? It's impossible to say

Dan,
It will last forever because you won`t have drunk any of it! #-o #-o

Every transfer from one vessel to another increases the risk of contamination or oxidisation.

If you're scrupulous with sanitisation and splashing the risk is small, but my advice would be to leave your YB in your PB and use your corny for your next brew.
