Low FG?
Low FG?
I've just added the hops to a bucket of Razorback IPA. The SG was 1008 and its still fermenting. How low can it go and will this affect the drinkability of the batch? Starting reading was 1054. There's a crust on the surface that I imagine is the krauzen. smells and tastes ok, probably a bit of paranoia creeping in.....

How long has it been in the FV?
Take a pic of the crust. You will be able to post it on here after you have made 5 posts. (Ask 4 more things)Grumbler wrote: There's a crust on the surface that I imagine is the krauzen.

Is it a solid crust, bits of floaty crust or just crust stuck to the side of the FV?

I used the hops supplied in the kit, No name on the sachet. I started the kit 25th November, it was vigorous up until Wednesday then slowed down. I just checked and the gravity has dropped again. I'm a bit concerned it'll be too bitter as its still bubbling slowly but regularly.
Re: Low FG?
The crust covers the whole surface of the wort. Its quite dark but even thickness. I guess its a patience thing!!!

G,
Keep posting. Get your pics ready.
Sounds OK to me.
If you are concerned about the `crust` falling into your beer, get one of these, very effective.

Sterilise and rinse before use.

Cheers mate. Just started a Coopers Brew A, gonna dry hop with some cascade to see what happens. Razorback still bubbling and dropping, could be serious!

Just tried the first bottle. Gorgeous! A little bit hazy but tasted great. I'll be doing this one again ready for the summer. I'll put a pic up when I finish conditioning them.
