Re: my nogs not clearing
Can't wait either, my nog is in the barrel on secondary! but to think I've got to wait that long, a crime to tuck into early, but I know I will do it, didn't you put to much water in that brew?

Re: my nogs not clearing
no, not at all.....all ok....and i've just got 4 out odf the shed

Re: my nogs not clearing
I've already tasted my nog, only a tiny sip, tastes real good now, Question? would you do a nog again? I know it's a bit early where I'm concerned, but I have to say I would, got a tom caxton real ale in the FV at the moment, bubbling away quite nicely, I've got a litttle to much water in that, about 2 pints worth, but hope it's ok?

Re: my nogs not clearing
from what i've read, if you put too much water in, it'll just be weaker.
i prefer the "too little water" method
i have already bottled another nog, following advice on here, putting a good whack of demerara sugar in it to boost strength
i've a TC in the FV now, and i'm quite excited about it!

Re: my nogs not clearing
My Nogs 4 weeks old now, I bottled 6 Lts and kegged the rest.
The bottles (that I can see through) have cleared a little but you can only see his at the neck where it's thiner.
The barrel I obviously can't see through, and so I have had to keep pulling the odd glass or two or three off it, it is still cloudy but tastes just as good as bottles of ale that I was paying £1.85 for.
I must say things have changed since I last tried home brew, which was about 25-30 years ago. From what I remember you had to be really desperate to drink it.
My second brew is a Coopers Stout, which was bottled/kegged 2 weeks ago, this is lovely and clear if you shine a torch through it and if I might say so tastes even better than the Nog, although I've read that the Nog improves after about 7 weeks.
Hope I've not gone on too much, but I've been sampling both brews whilst reading through the forum.
