Not at all, just that it didn't taste like my favourite Young's Double chocolate stout, what I made wasn't good enough. This was a few years ago, one day I'll try again.

Right this Chocolate Stout is in the FV. In the end went for

Coopers Stout kit
1.0kg Medium spraymalt
200g Demerara sugar
200g Chocolate Malt - steeped
225g 100% Pure Cocoa Powder
4 tsp Creme di Cacao essence

Brewed to 22l. Yeast pitched at 20C and the SG was 1050. Tastes like chocolate milk now! Fingers crossed.

If memory serves there is/was a health food shop in Carrick on Shannon that may have 100% pure cocoa powder.

I know / remember that place! Up on the top left hand corner? Bought some gorgeous Raw Cane Sugar in there, a couple of years ago.

Only trouble is; I'm in places like Carrick and Longford a couple of times a year ~ under duress.

We do have a similar shop in town though. I was there today. But, I was distracted and never thought to pop in and enquire. I have to get my sugar there though, for my next lot. That'll make me think of it
