Looks good to me! You could afford to leave it another week easy, stirred or otherwise.

I've discovered after my initial frenzy that it never hurts to leave everything a bit longer, so I put my fermenters out of sight! :)

I'm also a convert to secondary fermentation and have bought another bucket so I can do two last brews simultaneously before summer heats up and catch you up with your Fixby, which i fancy a stab at myself!

so if i bottle from the keg, as it seems the simplest way with the set up I have, one keg and some 2L PEt bottles, i should prime with 50g, then add another 15g, having tranferred half the brew to bottles?

ok, after gently rousing the yeast a couple of days ago, the reading is deffo 1.016, and its still slowly bubbling away.

Do I leave it til it stops? Even if this were to take it over 3 weeks? We're on day 11 now.

Cheers fivetide. I've just cleared out the cupboard under the stairs to make room for the bins, as firstly I can't stop trying to take a peek, and secondly I'm hoping that it'll be cold enough under there to carry on brewing all summer (its an old thick stone walled terrace on top of a hill).

well i left it alone for a few days and we're down to 1.013! Well chuffed. I'll check it tomorrow and bottle it up then most likely. :D

then I thin its time for the TC and CSA! Busy day!

I've read elsewhere that Fixby with SafAle 04 clear like a bell in no time at all. As this is the first time I've used PET bottles, I can see that it is still very cloudy with a lot of yeast in suspension after 9 days. Is this unusual? Am I worrying about nuffink?

It was down to 1012 after 14 days, and was the same 24 hrs after that. I thought that would imply fermentation was over, as its the lowest gravity I've managed so far and it appeared to be stationary. also after 14 days I thought, well that's about it. Could I have got it wrong?
